I'm confused. I registered for a domain, pointed to my webspace's A record and Name servers. That worked fine.
Now, I created a new webspace at another host, and want to use a subdomain of my registered domain. Because I cannot use the same domain for two sites, I have to use a subdomain, correct?
In godaddy, the subdomain is a redirection to another location. but what do I put in the 'forward to' space?
and in the other webspace, do I transfer domain, add external domain, or what? this is in bravenet by the way. And I'm not understanding what to choose from. all I want is a subdomain, whose domain I have registered for already, that I could use in bravenet.
Subdomain and domain question?
If you are using bravenet do a domain name search from the their site use yourname.bravehost.com with yourname being the registered domain name you own. If the name is available your new domain would then be http://www.yourname.bravehost.com
Hope this helps, Roy
Subdomain and domain question?
Sub domain is a child domain... this means it would redirect to another website... for instance if you made a web space with bravenet and they give you something like ( you.bravenet.com ) you can use a sub domain to cover that domain. So it wont show bravenet but instead your sub domain. So when it ask for forward to ... just type your brave net domain.
