i want to make a website and have it hosted from my computer. I do not care what the domain name is and stuff like that. I tried apache and i could not figure it out so plz helpz me.

You probably can't. First, you don't know how to install and use Apache, so that means doing it right is over your head. Second, your ISP probably doesn't allow you to hang a server on your Internet connection.

I would go with one of the very inexpensive hosting plans like www.brokehosting.com. For $10/year you have your own Web site and 5 email addresses.

you can have a local testing server on your computer, and install apache, php, mysql, etc.

But if you want the site to be live on the web, you'd need to allow the world to access your computer and you'd better have really good security and really good bandwidth on your internet service.

yes you sure can...the domain name you can get from www.1and1.com or a number of different sites and will cost you a few dollars a year. they will also host you site. You can also host the site yourself by going to www.apache2triad.net and downloading the free server..this includes almost everything you will need..this can get a bit confusing at first but there are tons of forums out there to help...so dont give up..you can also goto www.phpnuke.org to download a php program. php is just a different format than html.you can edit this and make just about any kind of site you want and is also free.there is also tons of help forums for this too...or use microsoft frontpage or dreamweaver.these will cost a bit..if you are going to sell something try www.zencart.com...if you need more help go to www.travanie.com/modules.php?name=Forums... ... and post your ??'s there..i will reply as soon as possible..
