I don't want a free subdomain like: www.example.freewebs.com

I want a domain name like:

www.example.com

So I don't want to purchase my own domain name, so I was wondering if anybody knows how to make their own web host on their computer.

Just find me something that has a guide for it

It seems that you are a bit confused on how the internet works...

The domain name is how people find you on the internet... it is like a post office box address that people will type into their browser to reach your site....

This address is translated to the ip address of the computer which hosts your website via a DNS server...

You can run a web server on your home computer and give your friends your IP address which they can type into their web browser and boom!!! They are looking at your website.

But if you want a regular www address then you are going to have to pay for it... sorry.

You can get a .info domain name for just under $2.50/year at godaddy.com
