It's possible to get free domain hosting, although it'll take a lot of researching and you will have to be smart about it, because some companies who offer this often have restrictions.

As for domain names, there is no legitimate company that gives them away for free. And if there was such a thing, they would had been out of business YEARS ago. (It doesn't take long to figure out why. Hint: You're not the only one who wants a free domain. GASP.)

I have been following these types of questions for a while, and often people suggest:

Freeservers (Angelfire, Geocities, Freewebs, etc.)

Domain redirections (.tk, .co.nr, etc.)

Domain refer links (Those point sites or whatever where you have to refer a thousand people to get something)

Paid domain services (Godaddy, etc.)

Microsoft live (I heard that you need a credit card, and well, I'd be cautious about getting "free" stuff from Microsoft anyway...Also, I heard that it's for small businesses only or something...
