I have a new laptop and I personally can't stand pornography on the internet as it is completely uneccessary. I have recently found someone has been looking at pornographic websites. I have tryed blocking a particualr website be using Hosts files but that didn't work and I have recently tryed to block it with a free ware program that I downloaded and again no success. I think the problem is in the website becasue when it comes up on google there isn't a www. at the beggining of the site name or a http://. I don't knowof anything else to do. Does anyone have any good programs to downlaod or another technique of blocking because I may be entering the domain and name wrong in the hosts files even though it does block other websites. Sorry about the essay by the way.
Help me out with blocking pornographic websites?
If you snag a copy of "protection" software like Netnanny (netnanny.com) it should block people from pulling up pornographic material on your computer.
As an aside, if someone has already been to a porn site on your machine, make sure you check your system for malware. Many porn sites like to take advantage of browser hijacks and force your browser back to their site repeatedly. Also, make sure you have a good firewall (don't just trust the one on your router; get one for your machine) up-to-date anti-virus, and make sure you've got all the latest updates for your operating system to patch any invulnerabilities.
