I'd second the recommendation of DreamHost. But generally, registering a domain through a host is *not* a good idea. They often keep the domain hostage if you cancel your acount. I don't think this has happened with DreamHost, but generally I go through third parties.

If you do choose to do that, use GoDaddy.com for your domain -- they're the best.

I don't know of a free Domain Name with Webhosting.
