I don't understand how everywhere I look, dedicated servers cost something like $100/month for pathetic bandwidth, and then gives an "over cost" of $0.50/GB or up to $2.50/GB, when my site is only MAKING $1/GB.. (average: 1,000 visitors = 1GB = $1)
This seems rediculous... how does anyone make money if bandwidth is so expensive for high-volume sites???? I thought bandwidth was supposed to be cheap nowadays??
NOTE: Do not link "super cheap $5 for 1,000GB/month" sites because those are useless shared-hosts which crap out as soon as you have any visitors... I currently pay $15/month for 2,000GB but my site turns to mush with a puny 4,000 visitors a day... and I'm only using about 2% of my bandwidth.
Is bandwidth supposed to cost a good chunk of your website profit? Like 50% or more?
Im not trying to link you to a cheap site, but lycos is a well known company and start from 拢0.80 ($1.60) a month for 1gb space and acceptable prices after.. check the source link
Also going over your bandwidth doesn't cost too much ( and you get a good bandwidth rate )

Depends on the website really. Yes bandwidth will always cost you ridiculous amounts of money because it usually costs the hosting company a ridiculous amount of money. There are a few out there that offer "unlimited" bandwidth... but on TOS you cant sue if they at any time "run out" haha.
