I DONT recommend going with a "big" host - the customer service will slack due to the customer base they are serving. 1&1, iPower, Godady, and others look very appealing - but if you want to wait on hold for 1/2 hour to get to talk to someone who doesnt know what they're doing - go for it.

A smaller web host will dedicate more time to their customers, as they must to keep relations strong.

I am with http://www.DependableHost.net - and have had NO problems or complaints! I have a dedicated account rep who cares about my website, and business. I get a phone call from him every few months wanting to make sure that everthing is operating correctly, and I'm happy with the service. In fact, I also just got a christmas card in the mail from him.
