I'm trying to upload an already edited web design to a new website I bought from yahoo. It won't let me upload the ".htaccess" files because they start with a period. Someone suggested uploading them as zipped files then unzipping them. How do I do this?

I think you need shell (telenet) access which probably is not available with the Yahoo! web service.
