Ill have to pay a little extra a month for a business internet connection to run my own exchange server. paying this much monthly for email just doesn't seem like a wise investment. What are the chances that you or anyone else would be willing to pay me &12. per year to host their email? most places charge like 10 bucks a month!
Think it could happen?
Running my own exchange server. Do you think anyone would be interested in paying me $12 dollars per year?
not unless you plan on having 24x7 support! People rely heavily on their email and if its down you better be ready to provide support.
so, no..not a good idea.

I think it is possible. But u will find diffuculty to get customers.

Unless they are friends or family, I doubt it.
Reasons:
-Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail are all free and their mail servers are worked on by professionals who do only that.
-you can go out and get your own domain for free as in my email address can say my name@geeks.com if that was my own domain.
-Who would trust you with their money and your ability to maintain it 24/7 365 days per year? Do you have a 1-800 number for technical support?
I think its a great ideal that you have, just offer a few more services that go along with it to build up your reputation and client base.
