I want to send a zip archive to somebody, but I can't attach it to e-mails or upload it to file hosting sites. I've found that this is true even if I change its file extension or even encrypt it. Why might this be?

Some ZIP files are deemed a "problem" if the Email system, or file host cannot "Scan" the file.
Depends on the Host, email or storage
